RSQUARE DESIGN Joins UNGC, Formalizing Global-Standard ESG Management

RSQUARE DESIGN, a specialist in commercial real estate construction and interior design, has joined the UN Global Compact (UNGC), formalizing its commitment to global-standard ESG management and safety systems. This membership is expected to serve as a catalyst for spreading sustainable management while enhancing trust with partner companies. 


RSQUARE DESIGN and the UNGC held a certificate presentation ceremony on the 22nd at the UNGC Network Korea office in Seosomun-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Sang-min Jung, Head of the Safety & Health Management Department at RSQUARE (President of the Korea Serious Accident Prevention Association), and Youn-chul Yoo, Executive Director of UNGC Network Korea. The ceremony was organized to publicly formalize RSQUARE DESIGN’s adoption of global ESG standards. 


The UNGC is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, providing ten principles in four major areas: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Over 25,000 companies and organizations from 160 countries participate in this initiative. 


RSQUARE DESIGN has been promoting various ESG activities, building a track record of concrete achievements, including: 

  • Resource circulation through construction waste recycling contracts

  • Expanding the use of eco-friendly construction materials

  • Implementing low-carbon designs * Creating safe and healthy work environments

  • Ensuring transparent construction management

Joining the UNGC is particularly meaningful as it signifies that these activities are recognized according to international standards. 


Moving forward, RSQUARE DESIGN plans to internalize ESG principles throughout the entire construction and interior design process and expand practical initiatives. The company intends to consistently submit the Communication on Progress (CoP) and develop ESG construction guidelines for each project to apply on-site. Furthermore, it aims to strengthen transparency and safety in collaboration with partner construction firms to establish itself as a trusted architecture and interior design firm for large-scale domestic and international projects.
