RSQUARE DESIGN Recycles 570 Tons of Interior Waste in First Half of 2026


▶ Partners with Chunil Energy's "Jiguhada" platform to process over 500 cases of interior construction waste in H1

RSQUARE DESIGN (CEO: Yong-su Jang), an office and commercial space design and construction specialist, announced that in partnership with digital waste management platform "Jiguhada," it processed approximately 570 tons of interior construction waste through resource recycling methods in the first half of this year. 


According to the company on the 16th, the number of processing cases exceeded 500 during the period. Working with Jiguhada, RSQUARE DESIGN diverted construction site waste from landfilling and incineration, instead channeling it into resource recovery and solid fuel conversion. This effort reduced carbon emissions by approximately 550 tCO₂ — equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of roughly 82,600 mature trees. Rather than a one-off environmental initiative, this outcome reflects the results of an ongoing effort to make on-site waste management more efficient and transparent. 


Since launching the partnership with Jiguhada in January 2025, RSQUARE DESIGN has processed more than 1,700 tons of construction waste through resource recovery and solid fuel conversion over roughly a year and a half, maintaining a stable operational system throughout. 


Notably, Jiguhada developed and implemented a dedicated waste management system tailored specifically to RSQUARE DESIGN's site operations — the first of its kind for the platform. The system consolidates collection requests, dispatch, transport, processing, and settlement data into a single integrated timeline. Previously, these stages were managed separately; with the new system in place, site managers and administrators can now track — by site — when, where, and how much waste was generated, and how it was processed. 


"Processing waste through this system more than 500 times in just the first half of the year shows that our site-level waste management process has taken firm root," RSQUARE explained. "Because every detail of when, how much, and how waste was processed at each site is captured as data, the entire process has become far more transparent." As a result, client companies can now directly verify how the waste they entrusted to RSQUARE DESIGN was actually processed. Carbon reduction figures were calculated using waste-type-specific reduction factors and the IPCC's 2006 guidelines. Waste wood was converted into Bio-SRF, waste synthetic resin into SRF, and tile, brick, and concrete debris into recycled aggregate — together reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 550 tCO₂ in the first half of the year alone.

"Resource recycling and carbon reduction followed naturally as we refined our processing system together with a strong partner."
